Swimming With the Tide
In Luke’s Step One, we read that he learned to swim with the tide to stay alive within the system as a child. We all live within a specific context and learn through observations as children. Reflect on the worldview and community that raised you.
In what ways have you felt like you had to swim with the tide, even when it meant going against your intuition?
How have you experienced men as leaders in your church experience? What men exemplified pastoral care and wise leadership? What men acted like they felt threatened whenever people asked questions? What conclusions did you draw as a child?
Think of a time when you felt shocked to witness a way of life you could never have imagined growing up. What was it? How did that experience affect you?
